Bitcoin Tests the $82,814 Pivot as Ethereum and Solana Approach Key Trendlines

Published At: Oct 12, 2026 by Verified Pro Trader

Bitcoin slipped about 1% Monday, but the size of the move is not what matters on the chart. Price is still trading around the $82,814 pivot it broke below last week. That leaves traders with a clear question: can Bitcoin stabilize around that level and make another push into resistance, or will the recent weakness extend toward deeper support?

Ethereum and Solana face technical decisions of their own. Ethereum is holding above recent support while pressing toward a heavily tested descending trendline. Solana is trading between broken resistance overhead and a former resistance zone that has repeatedly acted as support.

What the three charts have in common is not the size of Monday's move but where price is sitting. Each is approaching levels that have already mattered multiple times, which gives traders clearly defined areas to watch next.

Bitcoin Price Tests the $82,814 Support Pivot

Bitcoin broke below $82,814 last Wednesday and has traded around that level in the sessions since.

The constructive read is that Bitcoin made a lower low without accelerating much further down. Price is trying to stay near the $82,814 pivot, which keeps a recovery attempt in play if buyers continue to hold the area.

On a move higher, the first resistance is an ascending trendline that Bitcoin pushed into roughly a week ago. Beyond that sits $87,395, a heavily traded shelf that has repeatedly flipped between support and resistance and is currently acting as resistance. A level that has changed roles that often carries more technical weight than one that has been tested only once.

If Bitcoin cannot hold the current pivot, the next reference is a descending support trendline farther below, around $77,000 to $78,000. A move into that region would mean a considerably weaker technical picture and would put sellers more firmly in control.

For now, $82,814 is the immediate reference. Holding around it keeps the recovery scenario alive, while losing it would bring deeper support back into focus.

Ethereum Tests Support Below $2,667 Resistance

Ethereum slipped roughly 0.56% Monday after an attempt to turn positive faded.

Recent selling has found support near $2,473, and Ethereum has continued to close above that area. Beneath price is an ascending support trendline that starts at the February 5, 2026 low. Ethereum tested that line during last Thursday's selloff and bounced.

The first resistance is $2,667, where price was repeatedly rejected on wicks before losing control.

A move through that level would bring a longer-term descending trendline into focus. That line runs back to December 11, 2025 and has now been touched roughly five to six times. Jake Sweeney sees that repeated testing as a sign the trendline could break to the upside soon if price presses into it again.

If that test comes later this week, the trendline would sit roughly in the $2,740 to $2,758 area.

A confirmed move above that trendline would strengthen the bullish case. Until then, Ethereum sits between rising support underneath and well-established descending resistance overhead.

Solana Watches $105–$106 Support After Trendline Breakdown

Solana declined roughly 2.3% Monday after an attempt to test overhead resistance was rejected.

The upside reference is $114.94, near a trendline Solana previously broke down from. If price rallies back toward that area, sellers could become active again.

The more immediate level is below price. Solana traded as low as $107.01 Monday, bringing it closer to the $105 to $106 area. That zone acted as resistance several times before price broke above it, and it has repeatedly acted as support since. That support-resistance flip is what gives the zone its significance.

If Solana moves back into $105 to $106 and buyers defend it again, that would reinforce the level as an important floor in the current structure. If the area fails, the next support reference is a descending trendline around $101 to $102.

That gives Solana a relatively clean framework:

  • Resistance: $114.94 overhead
  • Support: the $105 to $106 zone underneath
  • Next support: $101 to $102 if the zone gives way

Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana Support and Resistance Levels

Asset Level Significance
Bitcoin $87,395 Heavily traded shelf; current resistance
Bitcoin $82,814 Near-term pivot to hold
Bitcoin $77,000–$78,000 Descending support trendline; sellers in control if reached
Ethereum $2,740–$2,758 Descending trendline from Dec. 11, 2025 (est. test area this week)
Ethereum $2,667 First resistance; prior wick rejections
Ethereum $2,473 Recent support
Solana $114.94 Resistance near the broken trendline
Solana $105–$106 Polarity-flip support zone
Solana $101–$102 Descending trendline support

Crypto Technical Analysis: What Traders Should Watch Next

Bitcoin is the most important chart of the three right now because it is already testing the $82,814 level that needs to hold.

Ethereum has defended its rising support trendline but still needs to clear $2,667 before its larger descending resistance line comes into play.

Solana remains between $114.94 resistance and the $105 to $106 support zone created by its earlier polarity flip.

None of these setups has fully resolved, and that is what makes the current levels useful:

  • If Bitcoin holds $82,814, the recovery scenario stays alive. If it fails, attention shifts to $77,000 to $78,000.
  • If Ethereum clears $2,667, the larger descending trendline comes back into focus.
  • If Solana holds $105 to $106, the support structure built since its breakout stays intact.

For now, the charts are giving traders levels rather than confirmation. How price reacts at those levels should say considerably more than Monday's modest percentage moves.
