Post-Election Stock Charts: Microsoft (MSFT) Eyes Its Channel Top as SanDisk (SNDK) Hunts for Support

Published At: Nov 04, 2026 by Verified Pro Trader

Microsoft (MSFT) is the leading upside chart in this post-election group. It's pressing its all-time highs with the top of its weekly channel overhead. SanDisk (SNDK) is the support chart, sliding toward deeper Fibonacci support and due for a technical bounce. Booking Holdings (BKNG), Rivian (RIVN) and First Solar (FSLR) are resistance and watchlist reads after their moves on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Booking Holdings Climbs Toward Three-Factor Resistance

Booking Holdings reported its third-quarter 2026 results after the close on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The report was mixed, with a beat on adjusted earnings per share and a miss on revenue. My chart has Booking working toward the next resistance zone.

I've already annotated where I expect significant resistance: $209.22, still a good distance away. Three separate factors meet there. The first is a declining trend line, and the second is the most recent Fibonacci retracement. The third is the line that tells the story of this whole chart: a long-term inclining trend line I extended from pivot to pivot.

After Booking broke down through that inclining line, it made several attempts to get back above it. One of those attempts had staying power for a while and still failed. That history is why I give the line so much weight. Where it crosses the declining trend line, right on the Fibonacci level, I have an X marks the spot.

Booking Holdings (BKNG) faces three-factor resistance at $209.22. Should this move keep its momentum and travel that far, I expect heavy selling pressure in that zone.

SanDisk Slides on Data-Center Worries

Next up, SanDisk fell about 7.7% on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Democrats took control of both the U.S. House and Senate in the midterm elections, and worry about tighter regulation of AI data-center buildout pressured memory and storage stocks. The question I keep coming back to is how many data centers actually get built, and whether legislation ends up restricting that buildout.

The headline gives me the reason for the selling, but the chart gives me the levels. SanDisk filled the gap at $1,015 during the session and has bounced from there. Look at the path that got it here: the decline paused once, at the bottom of an inclining parallel channel, and outside that pause price has come almost straight down.

Should the selling continue, I see a strong support level at $942.89. That's the .786 Fibonacci retracement, and it lines up with a consolidated price shelf from April 2026. A slide this one-sided leaves SanDisk due for a technical bounce, and the destination I see for that bounce is the low pivot and consolidation range at $1,244.58.

Microsoft Presses Its All-Time Highs

Next up, Microsoft was up more than 6% on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. On the weekly timeframe, Microsoft has mostly traded inside an inclining parallel channel, and price is now in contention with its all-time highs from the week of July 28, 2025.

On the daily chart, near-term resistance comes from an inclining trend line that runs pivot to pivot. Should Microsoft keep marching higher over the next couple of days, that line sits at $572.42. A slower climb meets the same line higher up, because its slope points toward the top of the weekly parallel at $601.

One piece is still missing. Microsoft hasn't put in a daily close above the horizontal trend line at those old highs, let alone pushed clear of it. Even so, the way Microsoft fought during the session tells me the odds lean higher.

Microsoft (MSFT) has near-term resistance at $572.42, and I see higher probabilities that it tags the $600 mark at the top of its weekly parallel channel in the near to medium term.

Rivian Pushes Back Inside Its Parallel Channel

Rivian reported third-quarter 2026 results after the close on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and the stock has rallied sharply off its lows since then. On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, it pushed back inside a parallel channel that has contained price since April 2024.

Next resistance sits on an inclining trend line that acted as support for a long stretch before it broke down. A line that held for that long tends to draw sellers when price returns to it from below. I expect significant resistance at roughly $16, with room for a small pierce of that level.

What matters most for Rivian right now is whether it closes within the channel. A bull on this chart wants two things. The first is a daily close back inside the parallel on November 4, 2026. The second is continuation over the next couple of trading days, getting back over that session's high as soon as possible and putting in a daily close up in that range.

That follow-through builds space between price and the bottom of the channel, and the space is what lets the bottom of the parallel flip from resistance into support. In my breakouts, retraces and bounces framework, that flip is the retrace holding. Without the spacing, the channel line stays overhead and the recovery stays vulnerable.

First Solar Joins the Green-Energy Bid

First Solar rallied roughly 8% to 11% on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The Democratic takeover of Congress lifted expectations for renewable-energy policy, and a lot of names in the sector perked up with it.

My near-term chart level is the $225 range, but I haven't laid out a separate entry plan on this one. It's a watchlist name for now.

Levels That Matter

Asset Level What it is What I'm watching
Booking Holdings (BKNG) $209.22 Declining trend line, Fibonacci retracement and broken inclining trend line (X marks the spot) Heavy selling pressure should momentum carry price there
SanDisk (SNDK) $1,015 Gap fill, tagged Wednesday, November 4, 2026 The bounce off the fill
SanDisk (SNDK) $942.89 .786 Fibonacci retracement plus April 2026 shelf Next support on continued selling
SanDisk (SNDK) $1,244.58 Low pivot and consolidation range Technical bounce destination
Microsoft (MSFT) $572.42 Daily inclining trend line, pivot to pivot Resistance over the next couple of days
Microsoft (MSFT) $601 Top of the weekly parallel channel A tag of the $600 mark in the near to medium term
Rivian (RIVN) About $16 Broken inclining trend line, former support A daily close inside the channel, then continuation
First Solar (FSLR) $225 range Near-term upside level Watchlist; no separate entry plan

Bottom Line

The daily closes decide the next move here. For Microsoft, it's a close above the horizontal line at its July 2025 highs; for Rivian, a close back inside its parallel with follow-through; for SanDisk, whether the bounce off the gap fill holds before $942.89 comes into play.
