Bitcoin's $89,800 Neckline Holds the Key to Ethereum, Solana and Chainlink

Crypto has had no shortage of headlines lately, from Chainlink's interoperability upgrade to Solana's breakout above long-standing resistance. But the charts point to a simpler conclusion: most of the meaningful upside targets across the major tokens depend on one level on the Bitcoin chart.

On the weekly timeframe, Bitcoin has broken down from a head and shoulders pattern and has not yet reclaimed the neckline. That line is rising, and it projects near $89,832 by the week of October 26. Until price gets back above it, rallies in Bitcoin and the altcoins that track it are better treated as tests of resistance than as the start of a new trend.

That changes how each setup should be traded. The upside targets are real but conditional. The support levels are in play right now.

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: $89,800 Neckline and $75,000 Support Risk

The near-term case for Bitcoin rests on a single horizontal support level. That level rejected price on several attempts, then gave way after a period of consolidation, and has since flipped into support. Bulls have defended it so far, and it is now the near-term line in the sand.

The daily chart is less constructive. After consolidating near the top of the range, Bitcoin pushed lower and has since drifted sideways, forming a bear flag. At the same time, the rising trend line connecting the August 17 pivot low to the more recent pivot low has been broken. That does not guarantee a move back to the bottom of the broader parallel channel, but it does mean the horizontal support is now carrying most of the weight.

There is also a structural point worth keeping in mind: every test of a floor weakens it. Bitcoin has been pressing on support repeatedly. The constructive path is for price to lift back into the upper portion of the consolidation, build a base there, and let probabilities shift toward a push through the neckline. A break below support instead brings the $75,000 pivot low into play, where the setup would need to be reassessed.

Ethereum Price Analysis: $3,041 Resistance or a Drop Toward $2,000?

Ethereum staged a solid recovery from its intraday low, but its structure is weaker than Bitcoin's. Price is trading below its recent low pivot, something Bitcoin has not done, which leaves Ethereum more exposed if the broader market rolls over.

Near term, Ethereum came close to a multi-month trend line that has already produced two meaningful touches. Drew views a third test of a line like this as a potentially strong bounce setup. What matters next is separation: bulls want to see price lift away from support rather than curl over and sit on it. Prolonged consolidation on top of support raises the odds of a breakdown, which would target $2,000.

The upside case runs through Bitcoin. If Bitcoin reclaims its neckline, Drew sees $3,041 as Ethereum's next major upside target, where the January pivot extended forward converges with an inclining trend line that has acted as both support and resistance, around the end of October. That confluence is where Ethereum would likely stall and need further consolidation, with the $3,000 area serving as the broader resistance zone.

Solana Breakout Analysis: Can SOL Reach $124 and $178?

Solana broke above a declining trend line after testing it repeatedly, then pulled back to retest the breakout, a textbook breakout, retrace, and bounce setup. The issue is the quality of the bounce.

Drew's preference would be to trim or exit rather than wait through further consolidation. The breakout remains intact, but three sessions without meaningful separation from the trend line make the immediate setup less compelling. As long as Solana holds above the line, a retest of $124 remains on the table. If Bitcoin reclaims its neckline, Solana's larger bullish target comes into focus near $178, where the lower boundary of its former parallel channel sits.

Chainlink Price Analysis: $14.58 Resistance and $10.65 Support

Chainlink has drawn attention since the late-September launch of CCIP 2.0, the latest version of its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, which positions it as a talking point for institutional tokenized finance. Price spiked on the news and was rejected exactly where the chart said it should be.

The rejection came at a trend line built from multiple low pivots. Repeated tests weakened that support until it broke, and the recent spike was simply a retest of the breakdown from below. Good news does not change that dynamic. Until it is reclaimed, $14.58 remains the line in the sand. Above it, a long-term trend line originating in May 2021, the same line that capped the 2025 rally, sits near $18.28.

On the downside, Chainlink's inclining trend line near $10.65 aligns the May 2026 high pivot with the September 2026 low pivot. A clean pullback into that level would offer a favorable risk-reward area for a bounce back toward resistance in the $14.60–$14.80 zone.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Chainlink: Key Support and Resistance Levels

Asset Level Significance
Bitcoin ~$89,832 (projected, week of Oct. 26) Rising weekly head and shoulders neckline
Bitcoin Horizontal support Near-term floor being defended
Bitcoin $75,000 Pivot low if support fails
Ethereum $3,041 Upside destination on a Bitcoin neckline reclaim
Ethereum $2,000 Breakdown target if multi-month support fails
Solana $124 / $178 Near-term retest / lower boundary of prior channel
Chainlink $14.58 Broken trend line now acting as resistance
Chainlink $18.28 / $10.65 Long-term resistance / inclining trend line support

Crypto Market Outlook: What BTC, ETH, SOL and LINK Need to Confirm

Start with how Bitcoin behaves at horizontal support. Separation from that floor and a move into the upper part of the range would set up a test of the neckline. A sustained reclaim of the weekly neckline, projected near $89,832 by October 26, would strengthen the bullish case and challenge the existing bearish structure. Because the neckline is rising, the level to clear moves higher each week. A loss of support would invalidate the near-term bullish view and open the door to $75,000.

For the altcoins, the tell is the same: separation versus stalling. Ethereum needs to lift off its trend line, Solana needs to extend away from its breakout, and Chainlink needs to clear $14.58 before its news-driven narrative carries any technical weight.

Across all four charts, long-term trend lines and pivot levels are defining both the targets and the rejection points. That is what allows a trader to buy weakness into support and sell strength into resistance with a plan rather than a reaction. None of these outcomes is guaranteed, but the levels are clearly mapped, and the discipline to act at them matters more than conviction about the story.
