Bitcoin Breaks Its Trading Range: $77,500 Support in Focus

Published At: Oct 26, 2026 by Verified Pro Trader

Bitcoin has slipped below a parallel channel that had organized its price action for months. The zone, built from the November 2025 wick low and the May high, first acted as resistance, then flipped to support, and has since contained a stretch of sideways chop. Price opened a recent daily session at the top of that channel and has now started to fall beneath it. An attempt earlier in the session to wick back into the zone did not hold.

That shift matters more than any single altcoin chart. When the market's anchor asset loses a well-tested structure, the burden of proof moves to the bulls. Until Bitcoin reestablishes itself inside the channel, the more useful question is not where crypto might rally, but where support is likely to be tested and which setups still carry a real edge.

The answer comes down to two things: one imperfect but meaningful trend line on Bitcoin, and a disciplined focus on altcoin setups where multiple technical factors line up at the same price.

Bitcoin (BTC) Breaks Below Key Trading Channel

A channel that has rejected price repeatedly and then turned into support carries weight precisely because so many market participants have traded against it. Losing it does not guarantee a deeper decline, but it removes the floor the market had been relying on and changes how rallies should be read.

A close back inside the lost channel would be the first constructive signal. From there, Bitcoin would still need to challenge the descending trend line overhead before Nick would consider the broader bullish structure back in play.

Until that sequence happens, the path of least resistance favors a test of support below.

Bitcoin Price Support: Why $77,500 Matters

The level that matters most now is an ascending trend line drawn from February 24. It is not a textbook line, and it should not be treated as one. It has, however, acted as support on several occasions, and lower-timeframe charts such as the ten-minute show additional interaction, including a daily close that turned the line into support again.

If Bitcoin continues lower, that line sits around $77,500. Whether it holds will say a great deal about the market's underlying strength. A less-than-clean trend line during an aggressive sell-off may offer limited protection, which is why it belongs on the watch list as a reaction zone rather than a level to lean on blindly.

There is one modestly constructive detail: a bottoming tail formed on October 24, showing that buyers did step in on that session. On its own, it is not enough to shift the bias, but it is worth noting alongside the trend line.

Ethereum (ETH) Head and Shoulders Targets Below $2,000

Ethereum's chart reinforces the cautious tone. A head and shoulders structure is visible, with a left shoulder, a head, and a right shoulder above the neckline.

The standard measurement takes the distance from the top of the head to the neckline and projects it lower from the breakdown point. That projection points toward a prior consolidation range roughly between $1,833 and $1,984. If the pattern completes, a sub-$2,000 Ethereum becomes a realistic scenario rather than a headline exaggeration.

The pattern still needs a confirmed neckline break. Until then, it is a conditional setup, not a forecast.

Altcoin Technical Analysis: Finding Stronger Trade Setups

No setup in trading works every time. Nick's approach is to look for technical patterns that historically favor one outcome, then strengthen the setup by identifying additional factors at the same price. A falling wedge alone may suggest a bullish resolution. When that wedge intersects an established support trend line, the combination gives the setup more technical weight than either signal would carry independently. That is the filter that separates actionable altcoin setups from noise during a weak Bitcoin tape.

Cardano (ADA) Falling Wedge Signals Potential Reversal

Cardano is trading in a falling wedge, a pattern that more often than not resolves higher. One supporting trend line has already been lost, but another remains intact. A long setup becomes most attractive if price interacts with both the wedge and that remaining line at once, stacking two signals at a single level.

XRP Price Analysis: Why $1.25 Is Critical Support

XRP is sitting on the 2024 pivot near $1.25, a level that has produced repeated bounces over the past two to three months. It also acted as resistance in November 2024 and was a point of struggle during the 2021 bull market. Levels with that much history tend to matter, which makes $1.25 the clearest line separating a stable structure from a breakdown.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) and Arweave (AR): RSI Divergence Setups

On Hyperliquid, a right shoulder appears to be forming, and the daily RSI showed bearish divergence near the prior shoulder, with price rising while momentum faded. That combination flags a potentially shortable area if the shoulder completes.

Arweave shows a bull flag with a descending trend line nearby, creating a possible double-factor setup if the flag breaks higher. The daily chart, however, shows potential bearish divergence, though the price highs are close and the signal is not especially clean. A developing bullish divergence on the four-hour chart is the secondary signal to monitor before treating the flag as a long.

Hedera (HBAR) and Worldcoin (WLD): Patterns to Watch

Hedera appears to have formed a left shoulder and a head. The open question is whether price returns to the neckline and builds a right shoulder, which would complete a potential head and shoulders structure. Until then, the setup leans slightly bearish in the near term.

Worldcoin has been one of the weakest performers of the past week, falling roughly 27% across six daily candles. An ascending trend line below is the level to watch for a potential reaction.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Cardano: Key Price Levels

Asset Level Significance
Bitcoin Lost Nov 2025–May channel A close back inside is the first constructive signal
Bitcoin Descending trend line Must be challenged to restore the broader bullish structure
Bitcoin ~$77,500 Ascending trend line from Feb 24 — next support if selling continues
Ethereum ~$1,833–$1,984 Head and shoulders measured target / prior consolidation range
XRP ~$1.25 2024 pivot — key support with multi-year history
Cardano Wedge and remaining trend line Long setup strongest where both intersect

Bitcoin's Next Move Sets the Tone for Altcoins

Bitcoin losing its channel is the signal that matters this week. It does not call for a crash, but it does call for a defensive posture until the market proves otherwise. A close back inside the channel would be the first sign of repair; a move toward $77,500 would test whether the February trend line can absorb selling.

Ethereum's neckline, XRP's $1.25 pivot, and confluence zones on charts like Cardano are where the next altcoin decisions will be made, and every one of them remains secondary to Bitcoin's direction. The edge lies in waiting for levels where multiple factors align, letting the pattern confirm, and sizing positions with the understanding that no setup is certain.
